Common Questions About Kitchen and Bath Design and Remodeling in Baton Rouge

In-Home Consultation

We will have two degreed designers visit your home to discuss your project with you. They will ask you questions about how you use your space, what you like and don't like about it, and what you hope the result will be. The designers will give you ideas of various solutions for your project and will also provide a ballpark figure of how much it may cost. They will also take measurements and photos of your space for the future design and selections process. Put some clear and concise content in here. Keep your reader in mind. What are they trying to do? What are they hoping to learn? Why are they reading this? Help them out and use the tone and voice of your organization.

The In-home consultation fee does not apply toward design and selection services.

Our design teams are assigned to projects based on a rotation system. All of our designers are degreed and experienced in the kitchen and bath industry. However, if you have a specific request regarding the designer you'd like to work with, please let Kaitlyn know and she can try to accommodate your request. It may result in longer lead time for scheduling your in-home consultation.

Yes, if you are planning a renovation and already have a contractor, we can work with you to design and make selections for the space. At the end of the design and selection process, you own the designs and specifications for your project so that you can pass them along to your contractor. For projects that require a permit, our designs would need to be passed along to an architect or draftsman to create permitted plans.

Design Selections

Bidding

Unfortunately, TV shows do not convey realistic costs of renovating. When you are watching tv shows about renovations, keep in mind that most product and labor is either donated or provided at lower costs in exchange for publicity on the show.
We do not have a minimum size or cost for a project; however, we are a design/build firm and handle complete jobs. We don't sell and install single products like plumbing fixtures, flooring, and countertops.
While kitchens are typically more expensive in total cost, bathrooms tend to cost more per square foot to renovate.
We do not offer financing at this time. If you are interested in a home equity line of credit, we can refer you to some local banks that may be able to assist in securing a loan.
We bid our jobs to the penny so the client knows exactly the cost of the renovation. The only way you will incur extra costs after signing a contract is if you change your mind or something unforeseen is discovered during the course of construction.

Construction

Time frames vary from project to project, depending on the final scope of work. Most projects will consist of a 60 to 90-day timeframe with some as little as 30 days. Your contract will include a start and finish date that is specific to your project.
While unforeseen items can be found during renovations, it does not happen on every job like TV shows might make you think. It is very rare to uncover unforeseen items that were not evident during the in-home consultation. If something were to be discovered, we would discuss the situation with you to develop a game plan moving forward.
